The Rehabilitation Engineering Laboratory is part of the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems at the Department of Health Sciences and Technology of ETH Zurich and is located at the Balgrist Campus and GLC Building.
Assistive Technology Challenge Course ETHZ 2024: Challenge Lila
The «Assistive Technology Challenge» at ETH Zurich is a hands-on project-based course introducing students to assistive technologies, the principles of user-centered design and user evaluation, project management, as well as basic engineering tools. In groups of four, students worked together with a person with disability (challenger) to develop and evaluate a personal technical solution to one of their individual daily life challenges.
Together with Lila, who has Duchenne Muscular Dystophy, the students developed three additional control inputs she can use for video gaming.
